On 30 July, our MNG team joined close to 300 volunteers in Perth to participate in National Tree Day, the largest community tree planting and nature care event in Australia.

Planet Ark launched National Tree Day in 1996, and since then, more than 3.8 million people have come together to plant over 22.3 million trees and plants – an outstanding achievement!

Hosted by City of Perth, the event saw over 3200 native plants and 255 trees planted along the Narrows Interchange, making this the largest community planting initiative by the City to date.

The City of Perth is committed to increasing Perth’s tree canopy from 19 percent to 30 percent by 2050, as part of their Urban Forest Plan. Besides creating a greener and more sustainable urban environment, this will also provide an important habitat for wildlife.

We are pleased to have been involved in this year’s event and look forward to continuing our support of this important cause in the future.
